About Us
As a team, we are passionate about applying genetics and Omics to study neuroinflammation-mediated psyche traits and better predict mental health risks, particularly suicide.

Dr. Gui is a statistical geneticist in the field of complex disease genomics research, and with particular interest in mental health. He graduated from the Department of Psychiatry in the University of Hong Kong, and received training from both psychiatric genetics and genomic science. A focus of his research is applying integrative omics methods to identify genes and pathways associated with psychiatric diseases, including opioid use disorder, serious mental illnesses, and suicidal behavior. His research is currently supported by Henry Ford Mentored Scientist Award and NIH/NIMH funding, to conduct psychiatric genomic research that leverage electronic health records (EHR), whole genome sequencing (WGS), and poly-omics data in Henry Ford Hospital, All of Us, UK Biobank, and functional genomics database.
