III. Genomics and -omics risk scoring for improving suicide prediction (health service research)
project 3.png

This project is supported by American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The overall goal is to identify the most relevant omics predictors (genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics) in association with suicide attempts (SA), and then build and validate predictive risk models for SA onset among both European-descent and African-descent populations. We have gained full access to genome and phenome raw data in All of Us project; moreover, we have collected multi-trait GWAS summary statistics and functional genomics annotations that cover brain tissues and cells. Leveraging all this raw and auxiliary data together, we can exploit multiple trans-ethnic statistical genetics methods to identify transferrable genetic and poly-Omics risk scores for predicting SA across different ancestral groups.
